Cambridge Preparation Courses

Barton International College is delighted to now offer accredited Cambridge English language assessment. Cambridge English is preferred globally as a highly regarded test of English proficiency. It provides students with a more intensive alternative to General English and an understanding of how and when to use English in the right context. It provides students with the confidence and skills to have complex conversations in English and be able to interact and excel in daily life in an English-speaking country. A Cambridge certificate is valid for life and is recognised around the world by companies, universities and Government departments.

First Certificate in English Preparation Course (FCE)

• 20 hours per week
• Morning Session: Monday to Thursday (5 hours of study)
• Evening Session: Monday to Friday (4 hours of study)
• Length of course: 12 weeks

Commencement Dates 2017

Exam Dates at the local exam centre
• 7 June
• 18 August
• 29 November

Course entry requirements

  • IELTS 5.0 or equivalent or at the successful completion of the FCE Course with B2
    result.
  • Age: 18 years or over

Certificate in Advanced English Preparation Course (CAE)

(Course CRICOS Code: 094279B)

The CAE is recommended for anyone who plans to work in international business and/or study at
university. Many Australian universities accept the CAE to certify a candidate’s level of English, a necessary
condition for admission into higher education.
